Staged PFS uses just 4% of resources for low-cost development between China and Europe
Sarytogan Graphite has delivered a prefeasibility study for its namesake development in central Kazakhstan, six weeks before its self-imposed deadline.The PFS comes just days after the company secured backing from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, and it outlines reserves sufficient for six decades of production in a staged development that Sarytogan describes as low-cost, conservative, and designed to not flood the market.Maiden reserves of 8.
Stage 2A would increase total capex to $252 million in cash to deliver 18,500tpa of an ultrafine product purifying with an NPV of $518 million and IRR 33%.Stage 2B would bring in spheronisation at 7000tpa and a 4000tpa coating capacity at an additional $88 million for total capex of $344 million. Earnings margins for all stages are expected to be around 66%.
