Anne Marie gave her top tips to save money on meals and grocery shopping, which she says have helped her to save thousands
Anne Marie Dollard shared how she has saved thousands on grocery shopping since learning how to cook on a budget and stretch meals. The 45-year-old mum from Cork uses genius money-saving tricks which have helped her save big money on food bills.
Anne Marie said: “I love cooking because there’s always something new to taste, learn and discover, but I needed to work out how to do it cheaper and healthier. “It lasts me about six weeks, and I can make delicious meals like Pesto Stuffed Chicken and Mince Beef and Vegetable Dumplings for under €2.25.
She said: “I get a buzz out of saving on food, and I’ve found that growing my fruit and vegetables and swapping out big brands has saved me lots of money. Grow your vegetables Growing produce at home is a great way to cut the cost of a weekly shop because seeds can last years and offer a constant supply of goods which make the basis of most meals.
