The family of the talented young sportsman made a heartbreaking request to mourners attending his funeral this weekend

Jack Cosgrave from Limerick city, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, February 18.

"During his time at Gaelcholáiste Luimnigh, Jack touched the lives of many with his kind heart, dedication, and unwavering spirit. Whether in the classroom, on the sports field, or among friends, Jack embodied the qualities we all strive to cultivate: respect, integrity, and compassion. Jack was an extremely popular and well liked student and his warmth will be remembered by teachers and classmates alike.

Sinéad Ní Chiardha, Deputy Principal at Gaelcholáiste Luimnigh, said: "My sincere condolences to you Lauren, to your mam and dad, to Jack's partner Áine and to your extended family on the desperately sad and untimely passing of Jack. May God comfort you at this incredibly difficult time and give you strength in the months and years ahead. Jack was a true gentleman - May he rest in peace. Leaba I measc na Naomh go raibh aige.

While a third said: "The definition of a true gentleman. I will never have enough praise for the man Jack was, it was a pleasure and a privilege to call him a friend. My heartfelt condolences are with Lauren, Lizanne & Christy. Our time spent together will only be remembered fondly. May he now rest in peace.

"To his many close friends, teammates, and coaches, we now regrettably share your sorrow and pain as we know Jack will be missed by everyone.
