STORY OF THE WEEK: Even as debates about COVID-19 protocols in schools mostly die off, questions about safety, curriculum and faculty shortages remain as kids return to class.
"The concern over curriculum and education was relatively similar for Republicans and Democrats, at 58 percent and 52 percent respectively. Democrats, though, were more concerned with a lack of resources, while Republicans were more concerned with political agendas being brought into the classroom.
They include hiring 10 more school police officers; installing 500 new security cameras; the assignment of 33 Texas DPS officers to the Uvalde school district; and searching for a new interim police chief. The school district said it has also increased emotional support for students.""More than 14.5 million children have tested positive for the virus since the onset of the pandemic, and since the beginning of 2022, approximately 6.65 million reported cases have been added.
