Former Formula 1 legend Michael Schumacher's ex-bodyguard Markus Fritsche has been accused of being involved in a €15 million blackmail plot against the Schumacher family. Fritsche was one of three accused in the alleged extortion attempt.
Stricken Michael Schumacher is at the centre of an alleged £12million blackmail plot from a former trusted aid of the F1 legend’s family.
According to prosecutors in Germany via Mail Online, Fritsche - who had been recruited by the Schumachers 18 months before the accident - was part of a three-man gang. The 53-year-old was given unique access to Schumacher’s most intimate medical treatment during his employment. But when he was told to leave, he grew bitter and attempted to extort the stunning fee. It is revealed that Fritsche recruited his long-term friend Yilmaz Tozturkan and his IT expert son, Lins.
Tozturkan's son, Lins, then allegedly sent four images to the Schumacher residence just eight days later and told the family they had ‘a month’ to cough up the fee. It was intended to be sent over two instalments at the office of the Schumacher family lawyer. Schumacher’s wife Corinna has previously revealed that the F1 icon’s true condition may never be revealed. Speaking in 2021, she said: “Michael is here. Different, but he’s here, and that gives us strength, I find. We’re together. We live together at home.
