Scientists claim to have new evidence that may show proof of an ‘anti-universe’ or ‘mirror universe’ in which time has been running backward alongside us since the Big Bang.
Its potential existence could also explain dark matter in our own universe - which has long been an area of mystery for physicists.
The 'anti-universe' theory is reportedly based on the CPT theorem - which assumes that charge, parity and time are symmetrical and that if you switch these in any physical interaction, they will behave the same. There are three known types of neutrinos: the electron-neutrino, muon-neutrino and tau-neutrino, all of which spin in the leftward direction.
Since all other particles are known to have both leftward and rightward spins, physicists have spent years researching if there could be right-spinning neutrinos.
