New research has revealed the 'best fish and chip shops' in Britain, and topping the list is a 'very tasty' chippy found by a beach just 20 minutes from the centre of Edinburgh.

According to the study, East Coast placed first among the UK's elite chip shops alongside London's Fish Lounge. The experts utilised data from TripAdvisor and Google rankings, as well as Instagram hashtags, to compile their list of the top chippies in Britain. With an impressive average rating of 4.5 out of five on TripAdvisor based on more than 100 reviews, East Coast is also very popular amongst visitors. One recent customer even described their experience as "brilliant" in a glowing five-star review.
