Scotland has seen a predictably wet summer, and new research has revealed which cities in the country in particular experienced the most rainfall between June and July.
While Scots have enjoyed some days of sunshine over the past few months, it is safe to say that the weather has not been quite what most of us had hoped for. Much of the season has been marred by pouring rain, though some parts of the country have had it worse than others.
According to the research, Aberdeen saw the wettest summer in Scotland. The Granite City experienced an average daily precipitation of 0.56 millimetres, while its rainiest day of the season was July 21 — when it was hit by 4.8 millimetres of rain. Finally, the third Scottish city to be named in the research is Edinburgh. The capital city was also hit with 0.45 millimetres of rain on average this summer, while its wettest day was July 6 when it saw 4.3 millimetres of precipitation.

With the poor weather conditions, it is no wonder searches for ‘cheap flights’ peaked during the last week of July, which suggests the British public are frustrated enough to book spontaneous trips abroad.
