Just in time for the start of May, the official North Coast 500 website has rounded up the 'top places for seafood' along the legendary scenic Scottish driving route.
With the weather finally improving and May just around the corner, there has never been a better time to get out and see what Scotland has to offer. While a peaceful staycation in the countryside has its own advantages, if you're keen to see as much of the country as possible then nothing can beat a classic road trip.
Among the restaurants and eateries singled out by the North Coast 500 are the Ness Walk hotel and The Redshank in Inverness, which are the perfect spots to head at the very start or end of your road trip. According to the North Coast 500 website, the Torrish Restaurant in Ness Walk in particular offers peaceful views over the River Ness to enjoy as you sit down for a meal.
Elsewhere, the Seaforth Fish and Chips was highlighted as a top destination along the North Coast 500 for those craving some classic fish and chips. The renowned chippy, which is housed in a historic building dating all the way back to 1778 when the village was founded, serves up award-winning fish and hand-cut chips, as well as gluten-free and vegan alternatives.
