A Scots mechanic was caught by cops driving his boss’ BMW while high on cocaine

Jack Bennett was stopped by officers in Bonnyrigg, Midlothian, and given a roadside saliva test.A later test found he was nearly nine times the limit for benzoylecgonine - a substance made when the body breaks down cocaine.Fiscal depute Eilidh Grant said Bennett was pulled over by officers on the B704 Cockpen Road.

Ms Grant said Bennett provided a positive saliva test and was taken to St Leonard police station in Edinburgh where he failed a further drugs test. Bennett admitted driving a car with 435 microgrammes of benzoylecgonine in a litre of his blood. The maximum limit is 50 microgrammes.
