Daniel Rooney has had a whirlwind 24 hours, after being plucked from the Radisson RED hotel bar to perform at the Hydro in front of thousands.
A Glasgow singer who opened up for Take That after being drafted in 45 minutes before the show was 'buzzing' to be asked to be a special guest at Celtic Park today.
After his hit performance, the Celtic fan, from Carmyle, was then invited along to sing at halftime during his team's match against Hearts on Saturday. Although because of a technical hiccup, Daniel ended up not performing but said he was delighted to share his story with fans. Hollywood TV and film star Ross King was at the Radisson show and loved Daniel – so told Take That frontman Gary Barlow he was great, and asked Daniel if he could ditch his gig and open for the band, an opportunity that he jumped at the chance.

"They were standing there for me finishing and all hugged and congratulated me. It was such a nice touch from them. I wasn't expecting it."
Taking to Instagram in the aftermath of the show this morning, Daniel thanked fans for their warm welcome and admitted it was the 'craziest 30 minutes ever', describing Take That as 'absolute legends' for allowing him to step in.
