BBC Sport pundit and former England star Alex Scott sent a message of support to Lucy Bronze after the defender was left inconsolable following Sunday's World Cup final loss
Alex Scott was left emotional after watching a distraught Lucy Bronze struggle on the pitch following England's defeat in the World Cup final.
Speaking on BBC Sport, Scott said: "I was doing alright you know, seeing Luce and those tears has just got me. It’s not on her that England have lost this game today but we all know her mentality and how much that is going to pain her and it’s not on him. Lucy is an incredible person and incredible player and someone needs to go and put her arm around her, please."
Bronze and the rest of Wiegman's team, who won the European Championships last summer, battled admirably to salvage Sunday's final during the second-half but were unable to complete the turnaround. And Wiegman admitted the better team on the day won.
