Alison Johnstone announced the pause just before Deputy First Minister John Swinney was due to stand up to deliver his annual speech.
The Scottish Government's Budget statement has been suspended for 30 minutes following a leak of details around tax increases.
The broadcaster announced there would be tax rises for the highest earners and the threshold for those currently earning over £150,000 would come down to around £125,000. Johnstone said: "Members will be aware of my response to points of order raised at the end of First Minister's Questions regarding information related to this afternoon's budget statement.
