Campaigners want SNP ministers to fulfil a pledge in the party's 2021 manifesto to invest £10m in Changing Places toilets.
Disability charities have called on the Scottish Government to honour its commitment to fund a new network of accessible public toilets.
Such facilities differ from standard disabled toilets by offering more space and equipment for people with severely limited mobility or learning difficulties. Sarah Heward, a business owner from Tyndrum, said was no suitable facility in a large swathe of the rural west coast and Highlands."The effect this had was to give real hope to the thousands of disabled people who rely on these facilities to have a chance of a better quality of life and to travel around Scotland with dignity.
“The Scottish Government claim its policies in relation to disability centre around the belief that disabled people should have freedom, dignity, choice and control over their lives and that the government is committed to removing the barriers that stop people from enjoying equal access to full citizenship.
She said: "Tyndrum is one of Scotland’s most iconic villages and the development of a Changing Places facility is another important step in its history.
