Former Tipperary star Séamus Callanan has backed Liam Cahill as manager and reckons there’s another year in Noel McGrath and Patrick ‘Bonner’ Maher.

“Liam is very capable,” said Callanan, who retired after last year’s Championship. “And he's shown that with Waterford, he's shown it with the Tipp 20s and with the Tipp minors. “I think there is definitely another year in them. If you look at the Championship this year, where the games Tipp haven’t played very well, you are still looking at Noel McGrath being one of your best players in the Championship this year for Tipperary.

“When you turn 30 I suppose you evaluate every winter, so it will be no different for the lads to maybe last year or the year before.
