Gardai confirmed that a search is being carried out by a number of rescue bodies in the town of Ennis.
The operation was mounted by gardai on Sunday, following reports that a man aged in his 60s was missing in the Ballybeg area in the south of the town.It is understood that the individual was last captured on CCTV leaving his house on Saturday evening.
Yesterday, Clare Civil Defence carried out ground searches, while a number of volunteers launched drones with built-in thermal imaging capacities, in an effort to find the missing man.The search was stood down on Sunday night, after the Civil Defence, his work colleagues, neighbours and members of the public were unable to locate the missing man.
