Da Luciano’s in Bothwell has once again been sealed off by investigators after fire crews were called to a well-lit fire at the premises last night.
A plush Scots restaurant favoured by footballers has been targeted in a second 'firebombing' overnight. Emergency services were called to the already-damaged Da Luciano’s in Bothwell shortly after midnight on Monday as the fire took hold.
“It looks like they’ve gone inside the building itself and poured an accelerant all over it. On their way out, they lit it up. I saw at least five fire engines there and I spoke to a woman that lives nearby.“She was really scared and was going to stay at a friend’s house because her young baby was struggling to breathe with the smoke."
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "We were alerted at 12.06am on Monday, August 28 to reports of a building fire on Silverwells Crescent, Bothwell in Glasgow. The village of Bothwell has been at the centre of several fire bombings in recent years. The San Vincenzo eatery was targeted repeatedly with incidents including a series of fires and vandal attacks.
