Secondary school pupils will be told to wear face masks all day when they return this week
Students will have to wear masks in all communal areas - including classrooms. Ministers are bringing in the rules because of the threat posed by Omicron.
The rule will not be law although schools will be expected to follow the guidance. Ministers are braced for a 'big bang' when pupils are tested returning to school
