We moved from a four bedroom home in a lovely area in Ayrshire, Scotland which had doubled in value since we bought it - which was a great help when buying our current home. I have always placed quite a lot of emphasis on location as it definitely helps when reselling but I don’t think I’ll ever want to leave our current home as we have taken our time getting it exactly to our taste and it’s in such a lovely neighbourhood too.
I sometimes get asked if my husband is a fan of the pastels and florals and luckily he’s very easy going and leaves me to get on with it but he has his own TV room where anything floral is strictly banned, haha!My main advice while renovating or decorating your home would be to always trust your first instincts and don’t let other people's opinions sway you. Also, choose which items to splurge on and where to cut costs.
On the same note I was looking for chairs for our bedroom and found the perfect ones from Dunelm which were almost identical to the vastly more expensive ones that I’d originally looked at.
