A semi-truck caught fire on Route 83 in Elmhurst Monday morning, leading to traffic closures including ramps for the Eisenhower Expressway.
Southbound Route 83 under Lake Street is closed from North Avenue to I-290, officials said. Lake Street was also closed in both directions over Route 83 from Grand Avenue to Wood Dale Road but has reopened.
