Senators urge the Commission on Elections to extend the voter registration deadline from Sept. 30 to Oct. 31
Senators on Tuesday adopted a resolution urging the Commission on Elections to extend the deadline for voter registration until the end of October.
Several groups and lawmakers have appealed for the extension as some areas in the country halted processing due to COVID-19 quarantine restrictions., saying such a move may result in delays in the preparations for the 2022 national elections. The poll body said it would instead make modifications to accommodate those who want to cast their ballots next year.
