Robert Shepard, 30 – accused of helping set-up the killing of former Cleveland Mayor Frank Jackson’s grandson – was convicted of aggravated murder on Monday. He now faces life in prison.
CLEVELAND, Ohio -- A man accused of helping set-up the killing of former Cleveland Mayor Frank Jackson’s grandson was convicted of aggravated murder on Monday.
Assistant Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Kristin Karkutt told jurors that Shepard conspired with the killer, whom police have not identified, to borrow the younger Jackson’s dirt bike that day to make him an easier target. Still, prosecutors said, it took two attempts for the killers to take Frank Q. Jackson’s life.
Shepard told Frank Q. Jackson that he would leave the bike in CMHA’s Garden Valley housing complex, which is in a different neighborhood.
