Two individuals have been charged with assault and other offenses following separate violent incidents in Derry city that left seven PSNI officers injured. One officer sustained a serious head injury after being repeatedly kicked by a 25-year-old man in the Waterside area. A 33-year-old woman was also arrested and charged in the Cityside after allegedly assaulting officers and causing damage.

Two individuals are facing legal repercussions following separate violent incidents in Derry city on Wednesday morning that resulted in injuries to seven police officers. In one incident, which occurred in the Waterside area, a 25-year-old man was arrested and charged with three counts of assault on police and one count of disorderly behavior. The man allegedly kicked a police officer repeatedly in the head, causing a significant laceration to the officer's forehead.

He is scheduled to appear before Derry Magistrates' Court on March 12.In a separate, unrelated incident in the Cityside, a 33-year-old woman was charged with attempted grievous bodily harm with intent, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, two counts of assault on police, and criminal damage. Police responded to reports of a disturbance and encountered the woman, who allegedly engaged in aggressive behavior and violence towards officers. She is scheduled to appear before the court on Thursday, February 20.The Public Prosecution Service will review all charges as per standard procedure, a spokesperson for the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) stated. The PSNI continues to investigate these incidents and is appealing for any witnesses to come forward with information
