Shane Byrne will pay tribute to Anthony Foley on Dancing with the Stars dwtsirl
Rugby legend Shane Byrne is set to pay tribute to his former Ireland teammate Anthony ‘Axel’ Foley on dedicated dance week on Dancing with the Stars.The pair played side by side for Ireland for a number of years, including a career hightlight at the 2003 Rugby World Cup in Australia.Rugby Careers Shane got his first cap for Ireland in 2001, playing against Romania. He went on to win 41 caps between 2001 and 2005, scoring three tries, following the retirement of Keith Wood.
In total Foley played in 62 matches for the boys in green before his retirement from international rugby in 2005. Byrne also retired from international rugby the same year. Ahead of the performance, Shane told the Sunday World: “Anthony’s wife and kids are due to come along too so if I catch their eye I will be a mess.
