Irish golfer Shane Lowry returned home to celebrate his brother Alan's wedding and concluded a successful season on the golf course.
Shane Lowry made his way back home to Ireland to enjoy Christmas and attend his brother's wedding. Shane’s brother Alan tied the knot with partner Amy in the Mount Falcon Hotel in Ballina, Mayo, at the start of the new year. Alan popped the question while on holiday with his partner in Singapore and it was an occasion Shane and his wife Wendy Lowry were not going to miss as they posed for photos at the stunning location.
Alan has acted as his brother’s caddy on numerous occasions throughout the years including back in Tokyo at the 2021 Olympics. Alan is a skilled golfer who earned a golf scholarship to Maynooth University. There, he completed a higher diploma in professional accounting, building on his prior achievement of an honours degree. His brother posted a number of photos from the special day, on Instagram with the caption: ‘The best few days.’ Shane finished off his season with a tied third-place finish at the DP World Tour Championship in Dubai, taking home over €500,000 in prize money to bring his season earnings to an eye-watering total of more than €8.2 million. The 37-year-old's fine form saw him finish inside the top-30 of the year-long FedEx Cup rankings and as a result of a fine finish at East Lake, Lowry took home almost €1.6 million in the end-of-season event to take his PGA Tour earnings for 2024 to €7.2 million
