Tom Cannon has completed his €12m move from Premier League side Leicester City.
Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder has described the signing of Ireland striker Tom Cannon as a “big statement” that highlights the ambition of the Championship high-flyers.
The two clubs have declined to disclose the fee, but it is believed that United have paid around €12m for the two-time capped striker, who has penned a deal until 2029, with the option of an extra year. “This significant signing is a collaboration of the work of the recruitment team, our own eye and the data we have, because Tom is right up there with his stats - he is also the style of centre forward we believe will boost the squad.
Wilder attempted to sign Cannon last summer, but he was loaned to Stoke City, where he scored 11 goals in all competitions.
