A tight, tense game ended 0-0 at Tolka Park.
MAYBE the Premier Division’s top two are keeping the fireworks in reserve for when they clash in Derry on the final day of the season.
But the Candystripes were certainly the more adventurous side in the opening half, not that Shels or Duff seemed unduly concerned. A handful of cries from the home supporters in the main stand alluded to exactly that, as fans watched Derry boss the ball. And five minutes later, the winger latched onto Cameron Dummigan’s ball over the top but skied it over the bar from an angle which Bone did well to narrow.
And while Duffy again tested Kearns from a poor kick-out by the keeper, Shels finished the half with JJ Lunney cursing his luck not to strike a Will Jarvis cross first time.
