IT’S ADVANTAGE Shelbourne in their Europa Conference League with St Joseph’s of Gibraltar - but they should be taking more than a one-goal lead away to next week’s second-leg.His goal after just 28 seconds rocked the visitors and looked like setting Damien Duff’s side up for a comfortable night.
He made his first official appearance following his unveiling at the Aviva Stadium, as he arrived with wife Iris at Tolka Park shortly before kick-off.He had only taken his seat when he was up again to applaud Coyle’s stunning opener after only 28 seconds. For a while it looked as though Shels would have it all their own way down the left-hand-side, with Jarvis causing plenty of problems for the visitors.
Liam Burt wasn’t far off moments later at the other end, but Shels struggled to regain the early momentum and shortly before half-time they found themselves level. However, they were limited to long-range efforts, with substitute Ali Coote’s 25-yard strike deflecting off a defender on its way through to Ruiz.
