Shell spent nearly twice as much on marketing its products as it did on renewable investments in the last quarter of 2022, according to a non-profit group which has filed a complaint against the oil giant 🔎 CapurrodDaniel reports:

The British oil company, which is valued at £168bn,, it posted profits of £32.2bn last year as energy prices soared due to the war in Ukraine. Shell also spent £18.4bn on share buybacks.. Across its business, Shell said today that it expected to pay £1.9bn in tax. In previous years, Shell said it did not make a taxable profit because of heavy investment.

Shell insisted the marketing budget, which includes the advertising, selling and delivery of its products, also involved some clean energy investments such as the installation of electric chargers at its petrol stations.
