Sheridan Smith has walked away from the ITV talent series Starstruck as the she is rumoured to have started work on a new acting project.
The show followed a similar format to the classic programmepresented the series which saw superfans working in teams, with a £50,000 prize up for grabs.
The 41-year-old actress completed the judging panel alongside musicians Adam Lambert, Beverley Knight and comedian Jason Manford. However, the network has confirmed that the TV personality won’t be back for another series due to other work commitments. An ITV spokesperson told Metro.co.uk: ‘We would have loved Sheridan to have returned to the show but she has sadly had to decline due to scheduling conflicts with a new acting project.‘The team absolutely loved working with her, she was a fantastic judge and provided some invaluable feedback to the contestants. We wish her all the best.’
Sheridan is perhaps best known for her triumphant roles as Cilla Black in 2014 TV drama Cilla, as well as appearances on sitcoms including The Royale Family, Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps and Jonathan Creek.
