Sheriff's detectives investigating reported 'physical altercation' involving Vista High football players [Breaking]
Sheriff’s detectives are investigating a report of a physical altercation about two weeks ago at Vista High School, involving members of the varsity football team.
According to the county Sheriff’s Department, two incidents at the school were initially reported to law enforcement, one of them on Aug. 31 and the other on Sept. 1, Sgt. Alfred Gathings said in a news release. In one of those incidents — an alleged battery — video evidence shows a teenage boy being pushed forcefully to the ground, the sergeant said in the news release.Deputies were told initially that a sexual assault had occurred at the school, the sergeant said in the news release.
In a letter sent to parents and published by NBC 7 San Diego, Vista High Principal David Jaffe said the altercation was between players on the football team. Doyle also said the district had obtained a private investigator who began interviewing witnesses Monday.
