The Studio Theatre was initially denied a grant by the SBA in July 2021 because it does not pay its performers.
A small nonprofit theater featured in a CNBC investigation in early January has had its denial for aid through the Shuttered Venue Operators Grant Program overturned.
While the program has helped many, it's also caused an outcry from businesses who believe they were eligible for aid and wrongfully denied.
