We chat with SAghdashloo about the making of PrimeVideo's new thriller RunSweetheartRun, her role as the First Lady, and some of the movie's larger themes:

Halloween is upon, and Blumhouse can be counted on to drop a good scare in time for everyone's trick-or-treating festivities. This year, Run Sweetheart Run does that trick, with the movie now available to stream on Amazon Prime. The film is led by Ella Baskin, and Emmy-winner Shohreh Agdashloo also drops in for the movie's spine-tingling tale.

Shohreh Aghdashloo: Well, I was offered the role and I loved the story and the role as well. She is a pretty sophisticated, pretty wise, courageous woman, and I just immediately said yes, because I wanted this film to be made and I wanted to send out this message, and I would love for this film to be seen by all generations, especially young people.

Without going into spoilers, what can you reveal about your character the First Lady, and her role in Run Sweetheart Run, and how was it different from other roles you’ve played? Shohreh Aghdashloo: I have a couple of them. One is when she [Cherie] comes to me and she’s pretty confused as to whether she should trust me or not. The reason I like that scene so much is because of the fact that this movie is really about the issue of trust? Are we supposed to trust any stranger just because they’re a friend of a friend, or they’re rich, or they’re holding a key position? No, we shouldn’t. It’s about caution that we should be careful no matter what.

Shohreh Aghdashloo: We had to shut down for a couple of months. But, to tell you the truth, it's interesting. Every time your heart is in a project and you have to stop for whatever reasons, when you get back to it, no matter how many months or years later - and it happened to me with The Expanse, as well - it is as though you're just picking it up from where you left it off as though there hasn't been any time-lapse in between.
