Navigating the choppy waters of a public romance can be tricky, but EastEnders ' Shona McGarty has struck gold with her Irish fiance who wasn't seeking the limelight. The soap star's beau, TikTok sensation and Offaly singer David Bracken, was blissfully unaware of her fame when they first connected on the video-sharing app.
"I said, 'Well not really, I'm not allowed at the moment.' He was like, 'What do you mean? ' He didn't even know I was in EastEnders - he had never watched it! ". Yet, Shona has bravely chosen to leave EastEnders, revealing to OK! that it was a necessary move for her personal and professional growth. Swapping long hours on set for cherished moments with loved ones, she expressed: "I miss everyone at EastEnders but I don't particularly miss the schedule so much. I have so much more time to spend with David and family and friends it's been fantastic. I feel very free. I can say yes or no to things and work on my music.
