A big loss
On Tuesday Bolts Mica, on Bebington Road in Rock Ferry, announced they will be closing their doors in the coming weeks. The store confirmed that the closure was due to increased costs and a decrease in customer levels.
The store was saved from closure five years ago by the Mica co-operative when the previous owners retired. Bolts Mica has asked customers to visit the store in the coming weeks to say goodbye to staff.People have reacted to the news on Facebook, one person said: "So sorry to hear this news you are all very helpful you will be sadly missed. Good luck for the future in whatever you do.
Another person commented: "A brilliant shop had everything you wanted remember Jane when she was on Bedford Road opposite Grove Road a lovely lady." Another commented: "So sorry to hear this, you always have exactly what I want however random the item may be and your advice over the years has been invaluable. You will be missed but good luck for the future."
Mica Director, Michael Ball, said: "The board on behalf of all the membership is sad to have taken this decision, both for the team and the community the business serves, but unfortunately the decision had to be taken. "We would still encourage customers to continue supporting other independent businesses in the area, which play an essential role in creating vibrant and sustainable communities."
