Officers from Police Scotland are investigating the theft at the memorial room at Tundergarth Church, near Lockerbie.

Police have launched a probe after money was stolen from a shrine to the victims of the Lockerbie Bombing. The thief swiped cash from the memorial room at Tundergarth Church, near Lockerbie, at 8.45am on Friday.

The PAN AM 103 Lockerbie Legacy Foundation website says the room "honours the 270 lives lost in the Lockerbie bombing on 21 December 1988". Tundergarth Church is next to the crash site and donations are needed to keep the site open. The Trust also hopes to raise funds to build a memorial museum on the site.
