Screen Rant has the exclusive first look at Sideshow's new Mega Man X and Zero 1:4 scale statues by Premium Collectibles Studio inspired by concept art from the Capcom franchise. The Mega Man X series first kicked off in 1993 and served as a sequel to the original video game franchise, focusing its story on the titular hero's successor, a new advanced robot designed by Dr. Light with complete free will and revived 100 years in the future after being put into suspended animation.
The Mega Man X franchise proved to be a hit for Capcom, spanning eight mainline titles while also being included in 2006's Mega man X Collection and 2018's Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1 & 2. Shortly after the release of its sixth title, the studio would get to work on their follow-up franchise, Mega Man Zero revolving on the titular hero who first came to life as a sidekick and ally to X.
Across its near-35-year history, the Mega Man franchise has certainly delivered plenty of memorable looks for its titular character and that of X and Zero have stood as the most iconic of the bunch. The subseries of games aren't far behind that of the mothership Mega Man franchise itself, being made up of a combined 14 games in comparison to the original's 11 titles.
Though they may not be finished designs, the renders for Sideshow and Premium Collectibles Studio's Mega Man X and Zero statues are stylish creations. Taking inspiration from Mega Man X5, both statues nicely recreate the moments in which both Zero and X were created by Dr. Light and Dr. Wiley and revived to defend humanity from the humanoid androids known as the Reploids.
