It comes after a pole crashed into a carriage
'Significant travel disruption' is expected over the weekend due to emergency maintenance works taking place to the north of the tramlines. Currently there are no services running between Highbury Vale Branch and Phoenix Park, with no service between Highbury Vale and Hucknall.
The works are taking place across Saturday and Sunday and operator NET has warned of 'significant travel disruption'. A replacement bus service will be in place, travelling between Hucknall and Bulwell Bus station.Customers can use tram tickets and passes on the NCT Turquoise and Yellow line buses between Bulwell Bus Station, Cinderhill and the city. NET tickets and passes can also be used on East Midlands Railway trains between Hucknall and Nottingham.
There had been multiple unconfirmed reports that Monday's extreme weather, including heavy rain and lightning, had caused a tram to derail. But NET has confirmed the tram did not derail - and that it is too early to say if the weather was a factor in the incident. "Although an investigation into the incident is ongoing, we understand that a set of points diverted one of the carriages onto a different section of line than the rest of the tram. Before the tram could come to a stop one of the carriages came into contact with the pole.
