A collapse in the carriageway has been reported to Nottinghamshire County Council
A man has been left "in shock" after a sinkhole opened underneath him in Arnold. Patrick Collins, of Carlton, was walking through Arnold with his wife and sister when the incident happened at around 12pm on Wednesday, May 24.
"One of my legs had gone right down and in." Patrick explained that a passer-by got out of his car to help him out the hole, saying: "He helped me out the hole and sat me on the wall."I just wanted to get home as I suffer with anxiety and don't get out much." He explained that the whole incident has "just shook me up" as it's not something anyone can expect to happen.
"All afternoon my knees have been throbbing and it's been coming out from my back as well. The doctor's had a look and said it's just really bad bruises, I'm lucky I haven't broken anything. He stated: "It could have been a baby in a pram, or a wheelchair or scooter, it's not good." Following the incident, the sinkhole was reported to the County Council.
