Sir Alex Ferguson is undoubtedly one of the best managers that the Premier League has ever seen.
His near-27 years as the man in charge of Manchester United saw him enjoy a stunning spell of domination that took the Red Devils to the top of the domestic, European and world game.Ferguson deserves huge credit for that, particularly given the competition that he’s faces. Turning 80 years old today, Sir Alex pitted his wits against the likes of Arsene Wenger, Jose Mourinho, Kevin Keegan, Rafa Benitez, Roberto Mancini and Claudio Ranieri amongst others as he battled for silverware during his time at Old Trafford.
That dominance was a tough act to follow as well with the likes of David Moyes, Mourinho, Louis Van Gaal and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer struggling to live up to the bar that was set by Fergie. If he was still managing to this day, it would take a brave person to bet against him continuing that dominance, but how does Ferguson’s record compare with the current Premier League elite?
