Food premises in Carnforth, Accrington and Halsall have all received the low score.
In the last week four different food establishments across Lancashire have been given a one-star food hygiene rating. None have been given a zero-star rating.
Food premises in Carnforth, Accrington and Halsall, near Ormskirk, have all received the low score. The ratings are given following inspections carried out by council food safety officers and the results are published so that people can more informed choices about where to buy and eat food. Each of the inspections was carried out earlier this year - with dates ranging from September to October - and published in the past week. Popeyes's takeaway and sandwich shop in Carnforth was given the low rating as was Azaan Super Store in Accrington.Businesses which are given low ratings must make urgent or major improvements to hygiene standards.
One star rating means major improvement is necessary while two means some improvement is necessary. The food safety officer will also tell the business how quickly these improvements must be made and this will depend on the type of issue that needs to be addressed. To get the top rating, businesses must do well in all three elements.
