The Department for Work and Pensions will issue a one-off automatic payment for those receiving certain disability benefits
More than six million people across the country are set to get a one-off payment worth £150 from June.
The Department for Work and Pensions will issue the Disability Cost of Living payment between June 20 and July 4. It comes after a previously disability-targeted cost of living payment was issued last September. In order to be eligible for the automatic payment, claimants must receive money from a qualifying disability payment. However, if claimants are still waiting on their benefit eligibility or entitlement to a disability benefit, they may still receive the extra cash but at a slightly later date, according to the DWP.To qualify for the payment, claimants must have received cash, or later to be found eligible for a payment, from one of the qualifying benefits on April 1, 2023.
The DWP confirmed that if a claimant is receiving a qualifying benefit from the Ministry of Defence and one from the DWP, the cost of living payment will come from the DWP alone.
