Skull of ancient Crusader recovered after being stolen from St Michan's Church in Dublin

The Crusader’s skull had been taken from a crypt in St Michan’s Church in Dublin last month.

Gardai said in a statement: “The items were recovered as a result of information that came into the possession of the investigating officers.Church of Ireland Archbishop of Dublin Michael Jackson said: “We in the United Dioceses of Dublin and Glendalough are delighted both the head of the Crusader and the skull which also was in the crypt of St Mican’s Church, Church Street, Dublin, have been recovered.

“As Archbishop of Dublin I should like to thank the Gardai and everyone else who has worked tirelessly to make this possible.”
