A new government initiative to clamp down on children using vape products has been welcomed by a Lincolnshire MP, who fears they are “exploding” in popularity amongst young people.

It follows the announcement of a £3 million illicit vapes enforcement squad, which will tackle the sale of illegal vapes to under-18s. Earlier this year, it was reported that three teens in Sleaford collapsed to the ground after using a vape device that police believed had been topped up with THC oil.

Dr Johnson said: “It was interesting to see how teen vaping is having an impact in our local schools following my recent work in Parliament where I have been highlighting the issue, including through my Ten Minute Rule Bill on the topic. “Nevertheless, I am continuing to work with Ministers across Government to explore where we can go further.”
