It may be tempting - but it's probably not worth it

Across Yorkshire, people have been loving the scorching weather this weekend with the UK in the midst of a mini heatwave. A heat health alert is in place with temperatures soaring towards 30C and although many of us are loving the heat, it can be tricky to sleep when it is still so hot at night.

It is because of a number of reasons but primarily, it is thought that having a fan in just circulates all the dust and pollen in your room. Worryingly, this can cause a build up in your sinuses and potentially trigger asthma or similar allergies.Also the blast of cooler air can dry up your skin - not to mention your throat, and even your eyes. Apparently, it can even cause sinus irritation.

Instead, the Met Office advises: “Stay out of the sun. Keep your home as cool as possible – shading windows and shutting them during the day may help.
