'Sleepy island' off UK coast being used by drugs gangs as cops warn 'we will come for you'
Criminals trying to exploit higher drug prices on the Isle of Man have been warned they will be caught and sentenced to prison.
They force are working in partnership with Merseyside Police to target organised crime groups , the Liverpool Echo reports. A multi-force investigation - codenamed Achilles - brought down the operation and identified Johnson as the orchestrator when his phone was linked to other members of the OCG caught in the police sting.
"Cannabis is endemic in young people on the island - it's coming over in large amounts. Heroin and high purity cocaine also brings drug debts, vulnerabilities and exploitation. It's not lost on us that we can't allow drugs to come onto the island in large amounts. The force shut down a £1m cannabis smuggling operation in January as drug dealers brought the class B substance onto the island inside car tyres.
