It’s been a miserable three years for Sligo Rovers in the FAI Cup.

Sligo Rovers have been drawn at home to non-league side Cobh Wanderers in the FAI Cup - but the Premier Division side won’t be taking progress for granted.

Sligo lost away to Drogheda United last year, while in 2022 and 2021 they were eliminated at the first stage by First Division teams Wexford and Cork City respectively. “There have been great times here at this club with the FAI Cup and we want to make sure that we have a good run in it this year. Reflecting on his big FA Cup day 25 years ago, former Swansea defender Casey said: “We got to the fourth or fifth round that year.

“If they could have done, they probably would have beaten us, but we beat them 1-0 at home, which was a famous result for Swansea at the time. Padraig Amond has scored some famous goals in the competition against Tottenham, Leicester, Middlesbrough and Manchester City.
