A back-and-forth affair in EuroBasket’s Round of 16 between Slovenia and Belgium had fans on the edge of their seat when a layup put Belgium up by 1 point...
Doncic became the first player to score 30-plus points in three consecutive EuroBasket games in the last 30 years.
But 12 seconds later that lead was gone, and Luka Doncic and the Slovenian national team dominated the rest of the quarter, even scoring 17 straight at one point to secure a 88-72 victory. Things changed once Belgium took the lead in the fourth, however. Once Doncic’s scoring slowed down, the rest of the team picked up with Klemen Prepelic and Mike Tobey in particular finding their offense. A three, several free throws and a couple of Goran Dragic dishes later, Slovenia suddenly found themselves up 82-65 despite being tied five minutes earlier.
