As Comal ISD dismisses slur claims, Hays CISD stands by students

“As I have mentioned previously, the district does not tolerate the use of this type of language in any circumstance,” Epley’s statement reads. “As such, the students who were found to have used the derogatory language have all received disciplinary consequences in accordance with the District’s discipline management plan.”
“The district stands by its students and continues to be proud of the Hays High School volleyball team for being brave and calling out hate and racism,” the Hays CISD statement reads. Parent Jennifer Gardner Price took to Facebook on Sept. 2 saying that the front row of the Canyon High student section yelled the slur at her daughters and other teammates throughout the match. Gardner Price said that when her daughter missed her serve, the students shouted it at her.
