As CBS2's Christina Fan reports, it was a frightening tumble from the sky for families to witness.
This plane somehow managed to dodge the buildings and skidded across South Main Street before crashing onto the front lawn of a home in Manville. Chopper 2 is checking out a report of a small plane down in Manville, New Jersey. Paramedics took him to Robert Wood Johnson New Brunswick with non-life threatening injuries.
The single engine plane, a Mooney M20M Turbo, took off from Greensboro, North Carolina early Monday morning. It was scheduled to land at Central Jersey Regional Airport. For some unknown reason, the pilot missed the runway and landed in a residential neighborhood two blocks away.According to online records, the plane is owned by the Guthrie Group, a management consulting firm in North Carolina. We have reached out to them to check on the pilot's condition.The FAA and NTSB are investigating.
